Make this creamy, sharp pimento cheese from scratch for your next party grazing board. It is a simple upgrade for homemade snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup diced pimentos, drained well
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the grated sharp cheddar cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, diced pimentos, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper to the bowl.
  3. Use a sturdy fork or a hand mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until they are just mixed and creamy. Do not overmix.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to your taste.
  5. Transfer the pimento cheese dip to an airtight container.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For the best texture, grate the cheddar cheese yourself instead of using pre-shredded varieties.
  • If you want a tangier flavor for your party grazing board ideas, substitute half the mayonnaise with sour cream.
  • This homemade snack keeps well in the refrigerator for up to one week.
