Make sophisticated, no-cook Caprese skewers perfect for graduation parties or any gathering where you need handheld, refreshing appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 ounces small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze (store-bought is fine)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 20 small wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. If your mozzarella balls are large, cut them in half.
  2. Thread one tomato, one folded basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball onto each wooden skewer. Repeat this pattern if your skewers are long enough, aiming for a colorful, balanced look.
  3. Arrange the finished Caprese skewers neatly on a serving platter.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Lightly drizzle this mixture over the arranged skewers.
  5. Just before serving, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the skewers for a finishing touch. These are ready to serve immediately.

Notes

  • For the best presentation, select tomatoes and mozzarella balls that are similar in size.
  • If you are preparing these more than an hour ahead of time, keep the balsamic glaze separate and drizzle it on right before guests arrive to prevent the basil from wilting.
  • These vegetarian party food skewers pair well with sparkling water or white wine.
